Honorary Citizens

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) confers the title of Honorary Citizen on persons who, by virtue of their voluntary activities, have made a long-term contribution to promoting civic-mindedness around the university community.

The following persons have been granted this honor:

Carmen Würth (2017)

Entrepreneur

Carmen Würth was made an Honorary Citizen of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2017.

Friedl Schöller (2009)

Theo und Friedl Schöller Foundation

Friedl Schöller (1925–2014) was made an Honorary Citizen of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2009.

Horst Nasko (2008)

Member of the board of the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation, formerly board spokesman of Nixdorf Computer AG

Dr. Horst Nasko was made an Honorary Citizen of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2008.

Otto Majewski (2006)

CEO of Bayernwerke AG (retired)

Dr. Otto Majewski was made an Honorary Citizen of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2006.

Theo Schöller (2002)

Former chairman of the supervisory board of the Schöller foundations

Theo Schöller (1917–2004) was made an Honorary Citizen of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2002.

Rainer Rupp (1999)

Co-founder of the “Forum Universität – Gymnasium”,  chairman of the Bavarian Association of Philologists

Heinz-Peter Scholz (1996)

János Ginsztler (1994)

Franz Klingan (1986)
