Video review: 150 years of TUMOur anniversary year on film

The Technical University of Munich has been shaping the future since 1868. Now, at the end of 2018, a cinematic retrospective offers the opportunity to take a look back on an anniversary year that was packed with events. At the same time, the university would like to thank everyone who contributed or participated. The film had its premiere at the Dies Academicus on December 6, 2018.

Numerous highlights made the past twelve months a special and unforgettable year: the ceremony in the Herkulessaal with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the inauguration of the Tschira-Forum in the newly renovated historic clock tower on Gabelsbergerstraße, the staff party on Campus Garching…

…the wreath-laying ceremony at the tomb of Karl-Max von Bauernfeind, the ground-breaking ceremony for the new building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Campus Garching, as well as the International Symposium on University, Society and Global Labor Market.

Beach Volleyball Championship and the Castles of Ludwig II

Further highlights of the anniversary year were the FISU World University Beach Volleyball Championship on the new sports grounds at Olympiapark, the handover of the Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence, the performance of the Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Bayerisches Nationaltheater, the exhibition "Ludwig II und die Architektur" in the TUM’s Museum of Architecture, and the grand Freshman Reception in the courtyard of the main lecture hall.

The festivities were rounded off by the Open Day, which – to celebrate the anniversary year – took place at all TUM-sites.
