QS World University Ranking: TUM is Number 1 in Germany

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) garnered the title of best German university in the renowned "QS World University Ranking". TUM is one of only four German universities on the list of the top 100 universities worldwide. It received particularly good ratings in the categories "Ratings by employers and academics" and "Support from academic staff".

The "QS World University Ranking" is based on surveys on the reputation of institutions among ac-ademics and companies, on the frequency with which publications are cited, the support relation-ship between professors and students, and how international an institution is.
As was the case in the previous year, TUM received a global ranking of 60, followed by the LMU Munich (68), Heidelberg (72), and KIT (98). When compared to other European institutions, TUM comes in 5th among technical universities.

Using the data from the previous year's QS ranking, a more in-depth ranking was also performed according to subject groups. TUM scored particularly well in the ranking of the following subject groups: the natural sciences (global rank: 17th) and engineering (19th).

TUM's good results in the QS ranking are corroborated by the recently published "Shanghai-Ranking" , which also determinded that TUM was the best university in Germany.Mehr Informationen:
