The TUM Board of Management oversees the running of Technische Universität München (TUM) and keeps it on the leading track in Europe. Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang A. Herrmann was appointed President in 1995. He is the longest-serving President of a German university. Curriculum Vitae
- Driver of reforms: Wolfgang A. Herrmann has introduced numerous reforms in a bid to modernize the university. His educational policy initiatives have made an impact throughout Germany’s higher education system.
- Professor of chemistry: In terms of his scientific career, the President is one of the most highly-cited German researchers in chemistry on the international stage.
- Unanimous appointment: In 2013, the TUM Board of Trustees unanimously voted to give President Herrmann a further six years in office.
- President of the year: In 2012, the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV) voted TUM’s President "President of the Year".
