Akaflieg München

Akaflieg München designs, builds, and flies its own aircraft - fully student-run. Combining cutting-edge aerospace engineering with affordable pilot training, the club offers hands-on experience from workshop to cockpit.

AkaModell

The art of model aircraft: The members of AkaModell design and build remote-controlled model aircraft. The best part is seeing the finished masterpiece take to the skies.

Asclepios Lab Munich

The club supports international analog astronaut missions through hardware projects and collaborations with Munich-based aerospace companies and research groups. Its main focus areas are life support systems space medicine, and spacecraf simulators.

Aviation Innovation Research (AIR)

AIR builds a high-performance aircraft - interdisciplinary, hands-on, and driven by teamwork. Students develop aviation solutions and gain experience far beyond the classroom.

BetaTUM Student Beta Tester Community

BetaTUM functions as TUM students' Product Hunt, facilitating connections between campus application creators and eager initial users to establish a robust user base.

Betonkanu TU München

Concrete canoe: Students are building a functioning canoe from heavy concrete. The key is get­ting the shape right. Every two years, stu­dents take part in the German concrete canoe regatta.

Bioinformatics Munich Student Lab

The student-led Bioinformatics Research Initiative applies computational techniques and AI in biology and medicine, offering networking with researchers and industry, plus hands-on experience in innovative projects.

BioMatrix

Students at BioMatrix work on their own interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of biology and computer science—such as graph neural networks for rare diseases or RNA folding using machine learning.

Coding for Change

The club connects TUM students with local and international NGOs to develop digital solutions that help them tackle real-world challenges and amplify their impact.

DASH

DASH develops a lower-limb exoskeleton for fully paraplegic patients to help them regain mobility.

Elara Aerospace

Elara Aerospace is aiming for the first student-built Methalox rocket to reach 100 km.

EnHands

EnHands designs affordable and durable prosthetic hands for people in developing countries, focusing on mechanics, prosthetic design, 3D modeling, 3D printing, and robotics.

ETHER

ETHER brings together students passionate about high-frequency technology and amateur radio. The team develops systems and components for wireless communication – from antennas and measurement setups to RF circuits.

EyeVoices

EyeVoices develops technology that enables communication through eye movements using only a smartphone. The club creates inclusive solutions, empowers people with motor impairments, and combines AI with practical accessibility.

GOOSE

The club develops exciting microgravity experiments on semiconductor materials using sounding rockets. Together, future projects are planned to harness microgravity for innovative research and technology.

HackerFab Munich

Chips are made in fabs that cost billions – or by students at HackerFab Munich. The club builds its own open-source and affordable microfabrication tools making semiconductor technology hands-on for everyone.

HORYZN

HORYZN builds Europe’s largest student drone for medical missions. The interdisciplinary team designs and flies autonomous aircraft — with the goal of saving lives.

Hummingbird

The team develops, tests, and optimizes gas turbines in their own design atelier, focusing on aspects such as the drive system and acoustics.

iGEM Munich

Students from Munich compete annually in the international iGEM competition, creating innovative solutions in synthetic biology.

iGEM Straubing

Students from Straubing compete annually in the international iGEM competition, creating innovative solutions in synthetic biology.

Impetus Sailing Team

Impetus Sailing designs, builds, and sails sustainable boats for student competitions. Combining engineering, teamwork and water sports – with a focus on circular materials. Open to students from all Munich universities.

Ingenieure ohne Grenzen

The Munich group implements technical projects delivering clean water, electricity, and education. Students collaborate interdisciplinarily with local partners, gain practical knowledge, and develop solutions with lasting impact.

Leptodon

Leptodon develops high-performance drones that detect, analyze, and assess flying objects. With drone design, sensor technology, and smart algorithms, we identify potential hazards early and create safe aerial systems.

LEVITUM

LEVITUM is developing the world’s most powerful hydrogen-powered eVTOL drone under 25 kg. Powered by cutting-edge fuel cell technology and strong team spirit, the “Mercurius” prototype is innovative, hands-on, and future-oriented.

MedTech OneWorld Students

MedTech OneWorld Students develops medical technology solutions for developing countries in collaboration with local partners. Students from all fields are welcome to join, contribute ideas, and help improve global health.

Mittelstand ZukunftsLab

The club connects students with German Mittelstand companies to deliver real AI and automation projects. Instead of working on case studies, interdisciplinary teams tackle current business challenges directly in collaboration with companies.

MOVE Prosthetics

MOVE develops robust, affordable prosthetics that use myoelectric signals from residual muscles. The systems enable intuitive control, increase comfort and independence, and remain accessible for underserved communities.

Munich Bioneers

Students develop biosensors for disease monitoring, participate in the SensUs competition, and organize exciting events such as expert talks and networking sessions.

Munich Music Labs

The club pioneers AI-driven music technology, merging technical expertise with creative practice. It connects research and industry and empowers students to launch projects in the music tech space.

muniQuant

muniQuant introduces students to quantitative finance and algorithmic trading through hands-on projects. Workshops, seminars, and team projects with real financial data build strong skills in programming, data analysis, and financial modeling.

neuroTUM

neuroTUM brings together students passionate about neuroengineering. They gain hands-on experience by developing a brain-computer interface that decodes brain signals into control commands using deep learning.

Odonatum

The team is developing a bionic drone inspired by the flight of the dragonfly. Members conduct research in fields ranging from bionics and control software to gear mechanics.

OneAIM

Students develop practical MedTech innovations. OneAIM combines medicine, engineering, and coding with exclusive workshops and direct industry exchange – perfect for those shaping the future of healthcare.

OpenHardware

The initiative fosters innovation in open-source hardware, embedded systems, and machine learning. By enabling hands-on collaboration, it empowers students to solve real engineering challenges and contribute to the open-source community.

Phantum

Students develop high-performance UAVs and are building the world’s first supersonic RC airplane. The project offers hands-on experience and diverse opportunities – also for non-STEM students.

Photum

The initiative opens the door to the world of photonics. Through expert talks, networking events, and hands-on projects, it promotes knowledge of light and quantum technologies to foster innovation, technical skills, and science communication.

Responsible Technology Hub

The club demystifies tech responsibility and creates an inclusive space for cross-generational and cross-sector co-creation. It offers young people a platform to develop responsible technology solutions.

RoboTUM

The fastest humanoid robot in the world is being built here! Students connect robotics and science through hands-on projects showcased at the annual Munich Robotics Summit.

Sky Bucket Brigade

Students develop an autonomous wildfire suppression drone and test innovative solutions to detect wildfires faster and reduce their impact.

Strohmann

Germany has abundant public political data, but it is fragmented and mainly designed for archiving. Strohmann is building a central platform that connects and visualizes relationships between political and economic actors.

Synchronized Skies

Students explore innovative applications of swarm technology – from drone formations to complex systems of interconnected autonomous units.

Techlabs

TechLabs supports students in expanding their knowledge of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence through hands-on learning formats, real-world projects, and a strong link between theory and practice.

Technolitics

Technolitics empowers students to actively shape the intersection of technology, politics, and society, developing innovative solutions to current and future challenges.

The Munich Alt Protein Project

Munich APP familiarizes students with alternative proteins. Projects and events promote learning, exchange, and development in plant‑based, fermentation, and cell‑cultivation food solutions to advance sustainable, safe, and ethical food systems.

TIDE

TIDE organizes hands-on hackathons and workshops on data analytics and business intelligence. The club connects theory with real-world application and offers students valuable technical skills and a strong network.

TUfast

Students develop vehicles in motorsport, electromobility, and autonomous driving – ranging from classic race cars to energy-efficient urban concept vehicles and electric motorcycles.

TUM Blockchain Club

A student-led blockchain initiative shaping Munich’s Web3 ecosystem. Through conferences, hackathons and workshops, it turns knowledge into practice – research-driven, globally connected and powered by a diverse student community.

TUM Carbon Removal Initiative

Students develop CO2 capture and storage technologies to combat the climate crisis and reduce atmospheric CO2 levels.
