During the 2026 World Cup, scientists from AHA institutions will demonstrate just how much research goes into soccer during select matches. Short, entertaining, surprising. During the group stage of the World Cup, BR sports presenter and stadium announcer Michael Eham will invite researchers who share his passion for soccer onto the stage in the Nockherberg beer garden for two matches featuring Germany. The wait for kickoff will be made shorter with exciting stories, new perspectives—and the occasional “aha” moment. June 14, 2026 – Germany vs. Curaçao. Warm up starting around 5:30 p.m. with BR presenter Michael Eham and Daniel Link, professor of training science and sports informatics at the Technical University of Munich.
