- 7:30 p.m.: Open discussion under the theme “Food for Thought” at FLUX
Food is more than just the consumption of nutrients: it is a fundamental human need, shapes our communities, and fosters social connections. However, the future of food also presents us with challenges: from ensuring sustainable production and supply chains and the responsible use of resources to the question of how a growing global population can be fed in the long term.
With its TUMUT 2026 event series, the TUM Center for Culture and Arts is focusing on the topic of “The Food System of the Future” this year. The aim of the evening is to foster dialogue among academia, industry, and society on how to design food systems that are future-proof. The discussion is thematically linked to the exhibition “CONVIVIUM – Food Systems at the Limit” at the TUM Architecture Museum, which will be open to event guests.
Following the discussion, the evening will conclude with an informal gathering at FLUX. Under the motto “Food for Thought,” guests can look forward to pop-up tasting stations and information booths run by food startups, TUM companies, and research projects presenting innovative approaches to the food of tomorrow.
