On the occasion of World Bee Day, we invite you to an information booth at the Maximus-von-Imhof-Forum in Freising. The event is aimed at anyone who would like to find out more about bees and their important role in the ecosystem as well as specific ways to protect them.

Visitors can expect an exciting journey of discovery: from native pollinators, nesting aids and impressive bee species from all over the world to microscope insights and guided insect trapping.

Pre-registration is not necessary.

Since 2018, World Bee Day on May 20 has drawn attention to the central importance of bees and other pollinators for our food, the environment and biodiversity and was proclaimed by the United Nations. It commemorates the birthday of Anton Janša, a pioneer of modern beekeeping, and emphasizes how closely the well-being of people and nature is linked to the protection of bees. In view of the global decline in pollinators, this day calls on everyone to take responsibility for their conservation.
