What is a Bachelor's Degree Program?
The Bachelor is the first professional qualification - also called undergraduate studies. A bachelor’s degree program comprises a standard duration of study of 6 to 8 semesters. Depending on the program the academic degrees Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) will be awarded. A graduate with a bachelor’s degree is qualified to study for a master’s degree.

Tum offers a wide range of bachelor’s degree programs from different fields. Some programs offer the possibility of a joint degree or a double degree.

What types of admission are there?
There are different types of admission for the bachelor’s degree programs at TUM, including degree programs with unrestricted admissions, restricted admissions (Numerus Clausus [NC]), and some subject to aptitude recommendation or aptitude assessment.

What application requirements are there?
To study at TUM you will need a higher education entrance qualification. This can either be a formal higher education entrance qualification or sufficient professional qualification. Further requirements depend on the individual degree program - for more info, visit the profile of the program you are interested in.
For the application procedure it is relevant whether you have a German or an international higher education entrance qualification.
- General Higher Education Entrance Qualification (e.g. Abitur)
Subject-Specific Higher Education Entrance Qualification
- General Higher Education Entrance Qualification from a German school abroad
- General Higher Education Entrance Qualification from a European school in Germany
- German-French Abitur (AbiBac)
- Educational Qualification from the former GDR/East Berlin
With a foreign higher education entrance qualification, you must provide proof of adequate German language skills.
