Please note: The dates provided here are not official. For the official dates and deadlines of the respective academic year please consult the circular of the specifc year.

  • Academic Year
    The academic year begins on October 1st of a given year and ends on September 30th of the following year.

  • Semester
    The winter semester begins on October 1st and ends on March 31st. The summer semester begins on April 1st and ends on September 30th.

  • Lecture Period
    The lecture period falls within the semester. In the winter semester lectures take place from approximately mid-October to mid-February, in the summer semester from mid-April to mid-July. Courses and examinations may take place on Saturday, as necessary. For more information, see Lecture Periods from 2010-2014.
