Academicus - Making Ideas Visible

TUM is proud of its record of excellence - and wants to improve even further. This is why Academicus - the TUM ideas competition - challenges all members of TUM, from freshmen to professors, employees and alumni, to hand in their ideas.

Winners of Academicus 2017

Once again we have received a staggering amount of ideas. Every single one was appraised and discussed by our jury.

In the end the jury has chosen four ideas, which are both innovative, creative and viable - and will hopefully contribute to make studying at TUM even better.

  1. TUM barrier-free by Julia Scharf, Student: A portable table which allows disabled or chronically ill students to better attend lectures in the lecture halls which are not yet fully barrier-free.
  2. An Image Campaign for Learning Spaces by Martina Knapp, Student: Creating an overview of all learning spaces for TUM students, complete with a guide on learning methods.
  3. TUMfit by Anja Quindeau, TUM Staff: Promoting health awareness by placing signs with information on calorie consumption or possitive effects on the cardiovascular system near stairs, elevators etc.

What is the Academicus?

Academicus ist the TUM ideas competition. Since 2002 it hopes to inspire TUM students, staff, researchers, professors and alumni to play an active role in improving the conditions of study and teaching at TUM.

A jury selects the best ideas, and the winner will be awarded a prize of € 500,-
