There are two different options to choose from, which are explained below. If you would like to get involved in at least one of the projects, please apply using the following form.
Good to know:
To ensure that you are optimally prepared for your commitment, there is a mandatory introductory workshop (duration max. 3 hours). We offer this workshop for both options at regular intervals. And because we value your commitment, we reward active participation with a confirmation of attendance.
visiTUM: Students explain their studies
Content: Short presentations about your study experiences
Location: at all TUM locations, at schools or online
Time: appointments are arranged individually
Language: German or English, depending on event
Study information from a student's perspective – “visiTUM: Students explain their studies” is a project in which students present experiences from their degree programs in the context of a short lecture in order to provide an authentic insight into studying that cannot be gained from brochures and websites.
Participation in the project is possible in German and/or English:
In German: The focus of the presentations is particularly on the opportunities and challenges of a field of study. The insight into student life provides an idea of what everyday life at the university is actually like with the chosen degree program:
- What do you have to be able to do in your studies?
- What is the ratio of workload to free time?
- When is a semester abroad or an internship recommended?
- What special features does the degree program offer?
In English: Participation in lectures and info sessions of the general student advisory service for the international target group to share experiences regarding studying in Germany.
No matter if you are in a bachelor or master program, or maybe even already working towards your doctorate at TUM, you are very welcome! If you have already completed a Bachelor's program, it is an advantage if you have completed it at TUM.
To ensure that you are optimally prepared for the lectures, there is a mandatory introductory workshop, which takes place twice a year. An application is possible at any time.
- The short presentations to school groups are embedded in a lecture on studying at TUM, which is given by a member of staff from the Student Counseling and Information Department.
- They can take place virtually, at the various TUM locations, or at the schools themselves (in Munich).
- Travel costs (only for travel by public transport) will be covered.
- We will take care of organizing the date, whether you can take over the lecture is up to you!
- The lectures do not take place weekly, they are single dates in the year.
