The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has founded a competence center to create a new education program for future vocational school teachers. In intensive interaction with industry and other stakeholders, digIT4.0@TUM will investigate how teachers can optimally convey the digital transformation of professional fields in class. Student teachers can work through concrete scenarios from the career world in a digital laboratory. The findings will be made available outside of TUM and will be brought to schools in the form of continuing education content.
The Technical University of Munich (TUM) takes gender equality very seriously . The university has implement numerous measures in support of women at a variety of career levels. On the occasion of International Women's Day, a new program has been presented that will increase the embarrassingly small number of women among TUM lecturers.
Professor Heiko Briesen and Johanna Baehr have been honored with the "Bavarian Prize for Excellence in Teaching" at state universities in Bavaria. The presidents and rectors of Germany's major Technical Universities (TU9) have called for a national digital pact for higher education. An initial draft released collectively by the German state ministers of science includes 500 million euros in funding, a demand echoed by the TU9 alliance.
