    Franziska Traube is the new Student Representative for the TUM’s Senate and Supervisory Board. It has been quite a long time since a woman last represented the students in the two main university bodies. Her main interests are the tuition fees and the referendum 2013. The fact that the semester ticket is to be introduced may be of help, she says. TUMstudinews was able to talk to her.

    The ideas competition "Academicus 2012" is about actively improving teaching and learning conditions at the TUM. In summer, all of our students, staff, researchers, professors and alumni were able to submit their ideas and suggestions. Now the winners were picked.
  • Students develop climber:

    An elevator into space

    An elevator that covers a distance of 40,000 kilometers and reaches into space? TUM students are working on the realization of this vision too. It might soon be possible to transport astronauts and materials into orbit by means of elevators instead of expensive space shuttles or rockets. The WARR student team is working on so-called space elevators that are supposed to go up in the sky on long ropes.

    Have you already seen the info-terminals in the Branch Library Main campus, the Branch Library Chemistry and in the Branch Library Weihenstephan? They are round, colored blue and white and are half-open. Anyone who dares to step inside will find a service facility that is brand new to Bavaria: video information.
