TUM Entrepreneurship Day 2016


The 2016 TUM Entrepreneurship Day was held on October 27 at the Entrepreneurship Center in Garching. 27 start-ups and stakeholders in the entrepreneurship scene were there at the Start-up Fair and exchanged ideas with attendees.


During the panel discussion, “Paths (or Detours) to Success” found founders spoke about their experiences and successes but also the detours they fell prey to when starting their businesses. Speakers included Dr. Lars Hoffmann (co-founder of fos4X, winner of the 2013 Presidential Entrepreneurship Award), Dr. Ulrich Rant (co-founder of Dynamic Biosensors, winner of the 2014 Presidential Entrepreneurship Award), Martin Klenk (co-founder of Celonis, winner of the 2015 Presidential Entrepreneurship Award) and Felix Haas (TUM alumnus, start-up entrepreneur and co-founder of Bits und Bretzels).

In addition to the eventual winner, Orcan Energy Kinexon and Invenox were also nominated. Kinexon provides real-time localization and 3D movement detection systems for people and object and Invenox manufactures battery systems. Teams that have already secured an initial funding round and whose business models can expect high potential for growth are nominated for the TUM Presidential Entrepreneurship Award.
