Early to recognize the potential of digitalization

In his congratulatory address Science Minister Sibler called Prof. Krcmar an essential developer of our digital future. “As early as the 1990s you recognized the fact that digitalization has the potential to fundamentally transform our economy and society. In order for this to succeed, we need excellent minds to accompany this process today and in the future.”

Minister Sibler added that as a university professor, Krcmar has passed on his expertise and has supported young Doctoral students in their careers, guiding over 100 doctoral candidates through their dissertations. Sibler pointed to Krcmar's textbook “Information Management” as a standard work for students of information systems as well as to professor Krcmar's application of his accumulated IT expertise not only in professional contexts, but also in extensive volunteer activities.
