Dear students,
We all have been deeply shaken by the news and pictures from the earthquake region in Turkey and Syria. Tens of thousands of people have been killed in this disaster and countless others have been affected directly or indirectly, including here at TUM. That's why our president recently reached out to you and drew attention to various ways in which those affected can be supported at TUM. I ask you all: help where you can. Be it through a donation, by participating in the collection campaign for emergengy supplies organized by our students or simply by being there for your fellow students when they need you. If you are affected and need psychological help, there are several places you can turn to. You can find an overview of the offers at Help with Mental Stress and Illness. These services are of course available to you at any time, also if you are under pressure or need support for other reasons. You can also find advice and help with regard to the upcoming exam period. Academic coaching as well as learning workshops offered by our Student Advising team, for example, provide targeted help in preparing for exams. And as part of TUM4MIND, the campaign weeks for mental health, we are offering free workshops on relaxation and stress management until February 27. I wish you every success and good luck with your exams – and afterwards, despite the once again difficult situation, a relaxing lecture-free period!
Yours cordially, Gerhard Müller Senior Vice President Academic and Student Affairs
