Discover and try things out: We invite you to experience research up close for a whole day.

Come to the Garching research campus and experience science in lectures, hands-on activities, guided tours and much more. Whether young or old, there are numerous activities for every one on this day: students, staff and external guests. In addition to TUM, many other research institutions such as the Max Planck and Fraunhofer Institutes will be taking part in the day of action.

We are also taking part in the nationwide "Doors open with the Mouse" campaign day: some of our open day programmes take place as part of the Mouse Door Opener Day. Prof. Dr. Andrea Büttner

In her talk for the Women of TUM network, Prof. Dr. Andrea Büttner, TUM alumna and Executive Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging, addresses gender disparities in leadership positions in science and top management structures. She shares her personal success stories, challenges, and advice with the Women of TUM community, followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Since April 2020, Prof. Dr. Andrea Büttner has served as the Executive Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV). Since 2017, she has headed the Chair of Aroma and Smell Research at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Prof. Dr. Andrea Büttner studied food chemistry at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and completed her doctorate (1999) and habilitation (2006) in the field of aroma research at TUM.
