EuroTechPostdoc2 program

The EuroTech Postdoc2 program is a postdoctoral fellowship program for young researchers who have already demonstrated excellence in their field. It provides its fellows exceptional international research and career development opportunities by funding a total of 70 postdoc positions in two calls, each fellowship up to 24 months, within the EuroTech universities alliance. These positions will include research stays at two of the universities.

Requirements and application process

Research experience

Applicants must either hold a PhD or have 4 years of equivalent research experience in a relevant field.

Research project

The research thematic is open to all areas within the alliance enabling the exploration of emerging and promising fields and promoting new interdisciplinary research collaborations. Fellows may freely choose a research topic and the appropriate organisations to host them, fitting their individual needs and ambitions.

Hosting universities

Candidates apply via a web portal at two of the five EuroTech universities. At the first university (“host”) applicants will mostly carry out their research project, while at the second university (“co-host”) they will take part in mandatory research activities for limited periods.

  • Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)
  • Technical University of Denmark (DTU)
  • Technical University of Munich (TUM)
  • The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology – as co-host only

Mobility and residence

Applicants may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host university (Denmark, Germany, France or Netherlands) for more than twelve 12 months in the last 3 years before the call deadline.

External evaluation and selection

Applications that meet formal requirements will be assessed externally. All applications will be ranked and fellowships will be awarded on the basis of the ranking.


The candidates apply themselves. The next application period starts on November 30, 2021. The deadline to apply is February 24, 2022. Only within this timespan you can apply via an application portal. The link for submission will be published on the program’s website.
