International Education Programs

The Technical University of Munich, as well as its university cooperation partners and the associated institute UnternehmerTUM, offer a range of programs that make students and scientists fit for starting a business.

In the different formats, topics such as idea development, prototype construction, business plan preparation, concept validation and much more are addressed and learned. The programs presented here are aimed at TUM students and scientists who are still at the very beginning of their start-up project and would like to acquire the necessary tools for the possible implementation of a start-up idea within the framework of the programs.

Global Food Venture Programme

The Global Food Venture Program of EIT Food supports motivated PhD students from all over Europe to develop their innovative ideas in the field of food & agribusiness into successful business ideas. Within this program, knowledge from the field of entrepreneurship and business creation is imparted. In addition, participants gain exclusive access to international start-up networks.

Innovator Fellowship Program

EIT Food created the Innovator Fellowship, a programme designed for Postdoctoral Fellows and Young Professionals wishing to impact the Agri-Food systems by transforming lab-ideas into business ideas. The critical feature of the Innovator Fellowship programme is the creation of strong and multi-disciplinary working teams.

Singapore Entrepreneurship Exchange Program

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) are launching an innovative exchange program: Students will attend an entrepreneurship seminar at the host university for one semester and complete an internship at a start-up at the same time. In this way, the two universities are supporting students who want to acquire both entrepreneurial and intercultural skills.

Climate KIC - The Journey

The "Journey" is the world's largest summer school on climate change/climate innovation and entrepreneurship. Since 2013, the Technical University of Munich has been involved in organizing and hosting the Summer School as part of Climate-KIC, funded by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) . Participation is free of charge for TUM students.
