Interruption affects route to TUM's Weihenstephan Campus

Restricted train service to Freising and the airport

Rail Services on the S1 S-Bahn line are currently interrupted, which also affects travelling from Munich to TUM's Weihenstephan Campus in Freising as well as the services to the airport. S1 trains will not be running from the center of Munich to the Feldmoching stop. People travelling to the Weihenstephan Campus or to the airport are thus required to take alternative routes.

The S1 rail service to Freising and to the airport is currently interrupted due to severe bridge damage in Moosach. S1 trains will not be running between Munich east and the Feldmoching stop until September 19.

Alternative routes

People travelling to the Weihenstephan Campus or to the airport will be required to use alternative routes:

  • Regional trains that stop in Freising (e.g the trains to Landshut) will largely continue to run according to schedule. However, additional stops on the way to Freising will result in longer travel times.
  • Underground: Change at Feldmoching. Take the underground line U2 to Feldmoching, from where the S1 trains are running to Freising and the airport as usual.
  • S8 to the airport: People travelling to the airport from the center of Munich can also take the S-Bahn trains of the S8 line.

Keep updated

You can find up-to-date information on train connections to/from Freising and to/from Munich Airport on the official S-Bahn München website (in German).
