3D printed flow probes, Garching campus fire department and 20 years of TUM Asia
Fifth episode of the podcast "We are TUM" online
There's plenty to celebrate in this episode of "We are TUM": TUM Asia, the campus abroad in Singapore, is turning 20. Over the past years, the first branch of a German university in a foreign country has developed into an internationally renowned research location. TUM Asia Managing Director Markus Wächter looks back on the most important milestones along the way in this success story.
From Singapore we come back to Garching, home of the university's own fire department, which can respond quickly and effectively in case of an emergency. Jürgen Wettlaufer is in charge of the department and tells us about the assignments performed by the fire department and why it is an absolute necessity for university operations.
Then we'll get to know Vectoflow, a start-up that produces individually custom-tailored flow probes with 3D printing and whose customers include a number of highly renowned companies. In a conversation with Vectoflow CEO and TUM alumna Katharina Kreitz we also learn about the prejudices women still face in this technically oriented industry sector.
