Financial aid for books and learning materials for students with university entrance certificates from Germany and students with non-German university entrance certificates who are entitled to BAföG assistance

Currently-enrolled undergraduate and graduate students
During the leave of absence the scholarship won´t be paid.

Qualification Requirements
- Academically-outstanding students demonstrating financial need, who have completed at least two semesters at the TUM
TUM grade report (can be downloaded from TUMonline) must be handed in - Low income (proof of need): All students who receive financial assistance under the BAföG Act are automatically considered to have a financial need. If not, the applicants parents and the applicants income will be considered and must be below 200% of the allowance pursuant to Section 1 BAföG. This amount decreases by the amount of income the applicant earns.
- No prior financial aid received from the Oskar Karl Forster scholarship fund

A signed recommendation letter from a lecturer stating which learning materials are relevant for your studies
Please note: During a leave of absence due to important reasons such as pregnancy or the care and upbringing of a child, no support via this scholarship is possible. The Studentenhilfe München offers a scholarship for studying with a child (German).
Please prepare the following documents as PDF files for your application:
- Residence permit Academic transcript (from TUMonline) Deadline (November 15/May 15)
- Lecturer's letter of recommendation
- If applicable, proof of income for the last 6 months
Bank statements for all accounts for the last 6 months. If foreign bank statements are available, they must be translated into German or English by a certified translator. (Winter semester: April 1–September 30 and Summer semester: October 1–March 31).
Please provide a detailed explanation of all incoming payments directly on your bank statements. (Examples: salary, parental support, scholarship, loan, etc.) and any additional supporting documents (employment contract, internship agreement, scholarship award notice, loan agreement, BAföG award notice, etc.) - Income statements for parents or spouse for the last 12 months translated into German or English by a certified translator not older than one year
- if applicable, birth certificates of your children

Please refrain from inquiries regarding your application status. You will receive the result by middle of June / middle of November.
Please be aware that all the receipts of the books and learning materials must be handed in at latest until the 31st of July for summer semester, and the 30th of November for winter semester. If not, we can´t pay out the scholarship.
