Award for research into organometallic framework compounds

Nobel Prize in Chemistry for TUM honorary doctor Kitagawa

The Japanese materials researcher and TUM honorary doctor Prof. Susumu Kitagawa has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He is being honored for his research on organometallic framework compounds, as announced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm.

Anniversary ceremony for the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy

75 years in the service of democracy

The Munich School of Politics and Public Policy (HfP) was founded 75 years ago with the aim of strengthening democracy. During this time, it has made a significant contribution to political education in Bavaria. For a good ten years now, the HfP, with TUM as its host university, has been investigating the interactions between politics and technology, thereby enabling society to meet the challenges facing democracy today. The anniversary was celebrated in the Bavarian State Parliament.

One year of electric practical testing completed: TUM plant fire department is a pioneer in Bavaria

The fire department at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is the only one in Bavaria that uses electric rescue and firefighting vehicles. After one year, it is clear that the two trucks are reliable and fully capable of meeting the considerable demands placed on them. Despite initial skepticism, they are now very popular with emergency services personnel.
