Cultural Program Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern
Architectural tour of the city campus
Event location
Munich city campus
Target audience
students
Since 1868, the Technical University of Munich has shaped the museum and university district of Maxvorstadt with its buildings by important architects such as Friedrich von Thiersch and works by artists such as Rupprecht Geiger.
The exciting tour with Irene Meissner (Architekturmuseum München) shows the architectural history and artistic design of TUM. Participants will learn more about the history and context, such as the outrage caused by the naked horse tamers in 1930. Students will also discover hidden objects such as a gangway at Riem Airport and, with a bit of luck, will be able to enjoy the view from the balcony of the Thiersch Tower at the end of the event.
