Lecture in German: Generation Bit. From the Beginnings of Computer Art to AI
Lecture by Margit Rosen
When Umberto Eco spoke of a “Generation Bit” in 1961, he was describing the upheaval of an entire era. He was convinced that computers would fundamentally transform not only science, industry, and society, but also the arts. This lecture explores early artistic experiments with the “thinking machine” and the futuristic visions of the time, drawing a line to today’s debates on creativity and artificial intelligence.
Admission: € 5 / € 3, tickets are available at the Kunsthalle website. As part of the cooperation, a limited number of free tickets is available exclusively for TUM students. Registration is required for this offer.
Please note: The lecture will take place in the Garden Salon of the Kunsthalle Munich and will be held in German.
