Science meets City: Climate protection in Munich

How climate-conscious are the people of Munich? What specific emissions does the city produce - and how can these be measured precisely? These and other questions are the focus of the "Science meets City: Munich" event.

As part of the Europe-wide ICOS Cities project, Prof. Jia Chen and her team will be presenting their expanded measurement network for Munich. This will enable the researchers to measure the city's CO₂ and methane pollution in real time. In addition, the results of a recent survey as part of the European Social Survey (ESS) will be presented, which examines the attitudes of Munich's population towards climate issues.
