TUMgesund Action Day for Cancer Prevention
Event location
Campus Weihenstephan
Target audience
students,
employees,
TUM members,
alumni
This year, our action days are all about cancer prevention. Every year, around 500,000 people in Germany are newly diagnosed with cancer. According to the World Health Organization, up to 40 percent of these cancer cases could be avoided through prevention.
This year, we are focusing in particular on gender-specific cancers such as prostate, testicular, breast and cervical cancer as well as HPV infections. Prostate cancer is by far the most common cancer in men and breast cancer in women in Germany.
The campaign days count as working time for employees at the site.
Accompanying event: traveling exhibition on cancer prevention
