Then TUM’s Welcome Summer events are the place to be! In the week before the semester starts you can learn more about student life in Munich, get to know other students and get useful tips. We look forward to meeting you there!

Afterwards, you have the opportunity to meet and talk with other newcomers online at our Welcome Summer Lounge in an informal atmosphere.

Finding accommodation is always an important topic when people move to a new city!
During this session we would like to give you some useful tips – like how to apply for an advertised apartment, how to contact the property owner/manager, how to master German bureaucracy and registry Residence Registration Office etc.

The Housing Service at the TUM Center for Study and Teaching supports students and staff in their search for accommodation.
The session will take place twice. Please choose your prefered time slot.
Studying at TUM gives you a lot of freedom and choice but also requires some planning and structure from the start. In this session, we will give you an overview of what to expect in your first semester at TU Munich. We talk about the structure of the semester. We present ideas about how to plan your learning cycles and how to get ready for the exams at the end of lecture period. And we will also talk about the special Corona situation and its challenges.

When faced with learning difficulties, lack of motivation, nervousness before exams or self-doubt during their studies, many students feel alone and overwhelmed. The Academic Coaching at TUM offers support and guidance in challenging times.
Are you an international newcomer? New study program, new university, new home, new country and being in a new environment – we can imagine there is a lot you want to talk about. We want to support you in meeting your new challenges. Find out in what ways student advisers could help you. You can also learn more about events offered by the TUM Global & Alumni Office and the student association ESN TUMi München. These events offer the great opportunity to get to know Munich and its surroundings and make new friends.

"They don't mean it like that" - how to understand German university life
Studying in a foreign country is both exciting and challenging at the same time. This interactive workshop reveals cultural characteristics in Germany. You will get intercultural advice and recommendations that will help you to survive at a German university.

Gathering during the semester: Interactive Online Language Café
Also during Corona there are interesting offers for everyone interested in languages at TUM.
The interactive online language café is your weekly opportunity to apply language skills in a relaxed atmosphere and to meet other students, especially internationals.
Don't worry, the language café is very interactive and not a static video call. Groups are created very intuitively and without a moderator. The language café is suitable for learners of all languages and language levels. Just drop by: Every Tuesday 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Learn more on how it works in the TUMi app. ESN TUMi München also organizes other interesting online events that you also find in the TUMi app.
