Just take a deep breath and relax body & mind

In August, TUM4Mind supports you with different online relaxation workshops in German and English, some in the mornings, some in the evenings. For example, immerse yourself in a deep relaxation during an evening session of „Yoga Nidra“ or recharge your batteries with a variety of exercises at the workshop „Breathing Techniques“. You can also test Autogenic Training and different last minute relaxation exercises based on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) techniques. All offers are accessible and free of charge for TUM students. Further information and registration: www.tum.de/tum4mind

Deadline for the payment of the semester fee

Please make sure that you have transferred your semester fee by August 15, 2022 at the latest. Please transfer the amount in time, otherwise you could be exmatriculated. For students starting their studies in the winter semester 2022/23, the deadline is September 15. Due to the special conditions for the 9-Euro-Ticket, the fee for winter semester 2022/23 is reduced accordingly for students in Munich, Freising and Garching. More info: TUM Fees and Financial Aid

TUM Deep Tech IDEAward

The chance for international entrepreneurship talents from outside the TUM ecosystem to fund their entry into the Munich ecosystem from abroad. Convince our expert jury and win a total of Euro 40,000 in prize money and EUR 40,000 in scholarships. If you have an innovative and convincing idea in a deep tech field, we will support you in further developing your start-up project. TUM: Junge Akademie: Less is more?

The nomination and application phase for scholarships of the TUM Junge Akademie has begun. This year's motto is "Less is More? Empowering individuals to focus on the essentials". The application deadline is August 31, 2022. More information about the scholarship program and the application process can be found at ja.tum.de

VDI Prize 2022: Award for the brightest minds

In the categories bachelor's thesis, master's thesis, diploma thesis, dissertation, engineering start-up and young engineer from industry: engineers from southern Bavaria and Austria can apply or be nominated for the VDI Prize 2022. The contributions will be evaluated in terms of innovation as well as economic or social relevance. Personal and voluntary commitment of the applicants will also be taken into account. visiTUM: Applications welcome

Would you like to help pupils choose the study program that suits them best? Would you be willing to describe your study program and share your experiences? In the visiTUM program you can either give short presentations to classes (visiTUM: Studierende erklären ihr Studium) or accompany a pupil as a mentor for a period of six months (VisiTUM: Studierende nehmen dich mit). The deadline for applications for Winter Semester 2022/23 is September 20, 2022. Please note that German language skills (Level C1) are required.

#StipDichRein – Your way into journalism

If you are looking for a path into journalism, you can now apply again to the Catholic School of Journalism ifp. 15 students are accepted each year into the three-year journalism training programme. Here, aspiring journalists learn the journalistic craft for radio, video, social media editorial offices, printed and digital media. The graduates work in regional and national media houses - from A for Augsburger Allgemeine to Z for ZDF. A new class will start in spring 2023. UnternehmerTUM - Dive into the Start-Up Ecosystem

The student programs at the UnternehmerTUM, Europe's biggest center for entrepreneurship are getting ready for the next round in winter semester 22. Experience first hand what drives innovation in the Tech Challenge meet like-minded people and successful founders in the Innovative Entrepreneurs Lecture Series and dive into your first projects in the Business Plan Basic Seminar. FRM II opens its doors

On the Open Day on October 03, 2022, you can take a look at one of the most modern research neutron sources in the world, the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II). Look at the reactor pool and learn more about the non-destructive investigation of matter with neutrons. There is plenty of information, lectures, films, games, Lego models of scientific instruments and the opportunity to have your own questions answered by our scientists. Save the Date: TUM Sustainability Day

What is happening at our university in terms of sustainability? The first TUM Sustainability Day on October 27, 2022 is all about getting to know our sustainability strategy as well as projects, research and initiatives, exchanging ideas and networking. In a large event in the Audimax on the main campus, President Thomas F. Hofmann will present TUM's sustainability strategy. Chairs, schools, institutions and student initiatives will offer a diverse programme throughout the university. At the Presidential Student Lunch, students in particular will be able to enter into direct dialogue with the university management. Contact: sustainabilityspam prevention@tum.de. Support from the Studentenhilfe München

The Studentenhilfe München e.V. has completely revamped its website. The association works closely with the Munich Student Union. Its special feature is its fast and unbureaucratic support. The assistance is financed through donations, membership fees and funds from foundations. 100 per cent of the funds reach the students, as there are no administrative costs.
