Munich's voice plays a major role. Two citizen representatives chosen by the public were part of the jury. In the exhibition, all visitors now have the opportunity to share their personal opinion: online and on site. What seems particularly important and which open spaces are especially relevant? There is also the opportunity to get into conversation and exchange ideas.
Open Kunstareal: the competition
Thousands of people are out and about in the Kunstareal every day, as residents, visitors, students and international guests. Europe's largest cultural location is not only home to numerous museums, galleries and universities, but also includes some of the most beautiful green spaces in Munich. In order to make these open spaces more attractive, the Free State of Bavaria and the City of Munich initiated the "Open Kunstareal" ideas competition in July 2023, the results of which will be on display for the first time at this exhibition. The exhibition is a cooperation between the Kunstareal office and the TUM Center for Culture and Arts.
