Event on July 21 on the Olympic Lake

TUM to face LMU in dragon boat race

University dragon boat race to start on Friday, July 21, with the traditional head-to-head contest between students from the two Munich universities. This will be followed by races with 24 boats manned by teams from TUM and LMU, battling it out for the title Master of the Olympic Lake. Spectators can cheer on their favourites free of charge.

Prizes will be awarded not only to the fastest boats, but also the most creative teams.

Student teams, institutes and administrative staff from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) will race in the preliminary round, semi-finals and final. Each boat will have 16 competitors pulling the oars and a drummer to keep them in time. Prizes will be awarded not only to the fastest boats on the 250 meter course, but also the three most creative teams.

Starting at 4 p.m., with the final expected by around 8 p.m.
Munich, Olympiasee
The finish line is near the Theatron.
