Prototype workshop for students at the TUM Campus Garching

TUMorrow Factory creates space for big ideas

Pioneering ideas need space to develop - students at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are being given a state-of-the-art workshop, the TUMorrow Factory, at the Garching campus to turn their avant-garde ideas into technical prototypes. The building is being financed for ten million euros thanks to the philanthropic commitment of far-sighted sponsors.

IAA Roundtable: MCube launches initiative for autonomous mobility

Model regions for autonomous driving in public transport and freight transport decided

On the initiative of the research community, Germany's transport industry and politicians are committed to promoting autonomous driving in public transport and freight transport. MCube, the “Munich Cluster for the Future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions” led by the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Digital Hub Mobility of UnternehmerTUM, and the “Mobile Future Munich” (MZM) alliance have jointly executed a letter of intent to this effect.

Exploring the urban soundscape

Take a walk through the city and contribute to research at the same time: Residents of Munich now have the opportunity to do just that through guided soundwalks in the neighborhoods of Au, Neuperlach, and Harlaching. CitySoundscapes, a joint project by the Technical University of Munich (TUM), LMU Munich, and other partners, is looking for curious citizens willing to explore their city in a new way — and help lay the groundwork for concrete ways to improve life in the city.

The BioSysteM Cluster of Excellence aims to develop self-organizing molecular and cellular systems with programmable, life-like properties. Deutsches Museum continues its successful development under the leadership of a TUM professor

Michael Decker is the new Director General

The Deutsches Museum in Munich will be headed by Michael Decker as Director General in the future. Like his predecessor, Wolfgang M. Heckl, Decker is also a professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). On Monday, he was introduced to his new position by Bavaria's Minister of Science, Markus Blume, TUM President Thomas F. Hofmann, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsches Museum, Axel Cronauer.

TUM alumnus embarks on charity ride from Munich to Accra

10,000 kilometers to promote educational equity

Emmanuel Adjei, a sports scientist at the TUM University Hospital, is cycling from Munich to Accra – 10,000 kilometers, 150 days, 15 countries. With his campaign “Bike2MyRoots,” he is aiming to raise funds for an educational NGO. His goal: to inspire children in Africa, improve access to education, and promote inclusion and equal opportunities. He sets off on 7 June.
