Science event for children and adults
Open Day with the Mouse
Event location
Campus Garching
Target audience
publically
What is a neural network? How does a research reactor work? How can computers be taught to read? On the occasion of the Germany-wide "Open Day with the Mouse" campaign day of the "Sendung mit der Maus", several institutions at the Garching research campus are organizing exciting hands-on activities - for young and old alike!
Use your eyes to control a computer at the Munich Data Science Institute and learn how to read. Join in the research reactor tour and expand your knowledge of neutron sources and their real-life applications. Attend vivid experimental lectures in physics and chemistry - with exciting experiments. Piece together a shredded code in the SAP Labs through a series of missions.
In addition, the TUM Institute of Medical Microbiology (Rechts der Isar) is organizing an exciting hands-on activity on bacterial defense, where you can learn as a team how to fight off harmful bacteria.
The next campus-wide open day with numerous offers is expected to take place in 2026. The registration period for this year's offers as part of the "Maus-Türöffner-Tag" campaign is already underway.
