TUMChor: The Choir of Our University

We are the choir of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) – students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends of TUM. Every year we perform in the Munich Philharmonie at the university’s Advent concerts – and at many other festive occasions. Sing along!

Sing along!

We are always happy to welcome new singers interested in performing with the Symphonisches Ensemble München (Symphonic Ensemble of Munich). Students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends of the Technical University of Munich are welcome to join us!

  • Do you already have experience singing in a choir?
  • Are you willing to independently prepare pieces?
  • Do you have time to attend all (if at all possible) rehearsals?

As a project choir we practice specifically in preparation for upcoming concerts – it is therefore necessary to register seperately for each new project. Auditions are held at the end of the first two rehearsals. This alone allows us to harmonize with each other with just a few highly concentrated rehearsals.

New choir projects starting from November 2021:

  • The sound of Hans Zimmer and John Williams (Münchner Symphoniker, Conductor Benjamin Pope, co-operation with München Musik)
  • „scherzando“ moderated by Emil Steinberger (Münchner Symphoniker, Conductor Ludwig Wicki; co-operation with München Musik)
  • Chamber Music in a Munich Museum (Symphonisches Ensemble München, Conductor: Felix Mayer)

Details and dates for all projects as well as the registration for interested people who like to sing can be found on the wiki page (German).
