Procedure
Our all-day STEM workshops require intensive preparation and follow-up, from the development of the projects by the chairs to the practical and age-appropriate implementation at the partner schools. In the interests of sustainable support for the girls, further follow-up offers are developed for the schoolgirls after the project day in order to dive deeper into STEM topics.

Preparation of the school trip
Each MINT-Impulse project day is prepared in individual consultation with the partner school. A maximum of 12 girls per workshop are guided by up to 3 instructors – this high quality of supervision enables an intensive immersion in the topic on offer. The TUM lab kits are regularly checkd and completed down to the last cable. Arrival and project set-up always take place the day before, so that the project day can start first thing in the morning and the students can spend an entire school day tinkering and experimenting with their topic.

Project day at the school
At the start of the school day, the team of TUM speakers is on site and presents the respective projects. The students choose a topic on which they will work in small groups for the whole school day and discover lots of new things. Depending on the size of the school, up to 6 different projects travel to the respective partner school, with the topics varying, depending on the type of school and year group. At the end of the project day, each girl can take home an object that she has developed herself.

Follow-up experiences
In order to support the students in the long term, we develop special follow-up offers for them. These are sometimes unforgettable experiences (e.g. an excursion to the Zugspitze), which serve to broaden their personal horizons and help them to develop. A nice side effect is also that the girls from different schools network with each other here and there, creating a sense of community outside of school.
