Our partner schools

Many extracurricular MINT programmes are located in metropolitan areas, particularly in the Munich area. In more rural regions, access to such programmes is often more difficult. The MINT-Impulse are therefore aimed in particular at Realschulen and Gymnasien in Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria, Upper Palatinate and Swabia with difficult access to MINT programmes (e.g. due to great geographical distance). ExploreTUM is currently cooperating with 8 partner schools at 7 locations in these regions. The programme is funded by the hg foundation in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich.

Are you a teacher at a school that meets the above criteria and would like the MINT-Impulse programme to come to you? Please send a message to exploretumspam prevention@tum.de.

Thinking outside the box and much further! Our girls are shown completely new perspectives on the MINT world in an entertaining, varied and everyday way.

Procedure

The MINT-Impulse are part of our TUM Entdeckerinnen programme to promote girls. They require intensive pre-planning in direct dialogue with the respective partner schools. After the project day, we invite the schoolgirls to further MINT programmes.

Concept

The MINT-Impulse programme gives female pupils in grades 8-10 at Realschulen and Gymnasien a deeper insight into scientific topics. Chairs at the Technical University of Munich design age-appropriate and practically orientated project days that take place directly at the school.

Accompanying study

The Technical University of Munich is supporting the project at a scientific level with a longitudinal study. The findings will be used to further develop our support for girls in MINT subjects and career guidance counselling for Realschulen and Gymnasien.
