TUM set up the TUM Compliance Office under the umbrella of its TUM Good Governance strategy on April 15, 2020. The Office is entrusted with the task of safeguarding the principles of good practice in academia and science, promoting a sense of integrity and ethics among staff, and minimizing compliance risks in research funded by third parties. It provides a central point of contact for whistleblowers who wish to report suspected cases of unlawful conduct by TUM staff members. If the need arises, it can instigate ombudsman proceedings.

The TUM Compliance Office treats all information received or disclosed as confidential, and operates independently of instructions.
