More than 300 Square Meters:

Extension of the Sports Facilities at the WZW-Campus

The fitness facilities at campus Weihenstephan have been extended and renovated. All students and employees of TUM and the Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf (HSWT) are able to use the facilities at Weihenstephaner Berg 13.

What is being offered? A light-filled room for dancing and exercises on ground level – with a sprung floor and mirrored walls – a spacious gym equipped with the latest fitness equipment on the first floor, as well as clean changing rooms, showers and toilets.

More than double the space

Rooms that were used for different purposes before have been renovated and a high-tech ventilation system was installed on both levels. This way, the space available for fitness could more than doubled.

The renovation work cost about 400,000 Euros. The lion's share of 225,000 Euros was provided by TUM. A quarter of the costs came from the students of both the higher education institutions together – 50,000 Euros each, from the tuition fees of the WZW/TUM and the HSWT. The University Sports Centre and its friends association contributed a total sum of 75,000 Euros.

The fee to use the extended fitness facilities is 20 Euros per semester.
