Change of schedule as of December 15:

10-minute intervals for the U6

The number of passengers on the U6 to and from Garching has increased significantly. According to the MVG, the schedule will therefore be adapted accordingly from December 15, 2014, onwards.

This is made possible by funding from the district of Munich, Garching and the Free State of Bavaria.

This is what the offer will look like in future:

Between Froettmaning and Garching-Forschungszentrum, the U6 will run in 10-minute-intervals  instead of 20-minute intervals throughout daytime, Monday to Friday, as of December 15, 2014. Thus, there will be a train in both directions every 10 minutes from about 6 am to 7 pm – twice as many as in the off-peak times before.

During the semester break as well

Since the improved timetable is valid for business days during the semester break as well, the students will also benefit from the offer in the exam period or while doing an internship, for example. This is also to the benefit of the students who live in halls of residence in Garching and of the employees and visitors of the research institutions on the premises of the TU München.

From the beginning of December onwards, the exact schedule is to be found on well-known online platforms such as www.mvg-mobil.de/en/.
