Johannes Lochner races to the podium

Johannes Lochner, a student of Electrical Engineering at TUM, is now runner-up world champion in Bobsleighing. At the World Championships in Innsbruck-Igls, he and his pusher Joshua Bluhm, reached the second place – only 17 hundredths of a second away from the championship title.

The success came all the more surprising as Johannes Lochner was not nominated for any World Cup races this season and was only able to take part in the event due to a wildcard for being Junior World Champion. In 2015, he had already reached second place in the World Cup – in his first year as a professional bobsleigher. Now, his goal is to take part in the Olympic Games in 2018.

Johannes Lochner is a Masters student of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
