Architecture Museum and Telecommunications Museum are open until 2 a.m.

TUM at "The Long Night of Munich Museums"

Telephoning with 100 year old devices or grasping the entire architectural scene of the Kingdom of Bavaria during the reign of Ludwig II: Research and technology of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are again part of the program of the "Long Night of Munich Museums" on October 20, 2018.

The Architecture Museum in the Pinakothek der Moderne Museum.

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of TUM, the architecture museum shows the exhibition "Royal Castles and Factories. Ludwig II and the Architecture". Visitors will learn that King Ludwig II of Bavaria, in addition to the world-famous private castles of Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee and Linderhof, also played a decisive role in shaping the architecture of his kingdom with his public construction activities.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS MUSEUM

Technology to touch: Exhibits from 100 years of telephone switching can be found in the museum of the Chair of Communication Networks, which is otherwise rarely open to the public. From the ancient manual exchange ("Fräulein vom Amt") to the rattling mechanical dialling systems to the fully electronic system, everything can be admired live in action. Guests can take part in guided tours and inform themselves about current research results on the Internet.

  • Tickets: 15 Euros. Tickets are also valid for the shuttle buses and the Munich metro system.  Per admission ticket adults can be accompanied by up to four children, however metro fares are not included in this deal.
