Academic celebration, exchange semester, Science Hack

Everyone is cordially invited to participate in the Dies Academicus in TUM's 150th anniversary year, which will be celebrated on December 6, 2018. Save the date!

Program: Welcome & Ceremonial Speech by President Prof. Wolfgang A. Herrmann, Academic Honors, an address by Zaim Sari (Student Representative), music by the TUM JazzBand. For female students: Femtec Careerbuilding

Are you passionate about technology – and do you want to help shape the future of a renowned German company? Are you enrolled in a technical or scientific course of studies? Three Schools (over the course of three semesters) will provide you with important competencies for your leadership career – such as entrepreneurial thinking and acting, leadership and management skills, networking practice, and more. Experienced personnel experts will provide advice regarding your individual career planning, and you will have access to a large alumni network consisting of former (female) program participants, many of whom are now in the management levels of German DAX companies. Requirements: You have to be enrolled for a course of studies in the MINT area, be enthusiastic about the cause, interested in leadership, and committed to networking. TUMexchange: an exchange semester outside of Europe

Interested in a course of studies abroad, outside of Europe? Wanderlust? If so, why not apply for a stay abroad in the academic year 2019/2020 via TUMexchange? You can choose from more than 150 partner universities in 26 countries. The application period for the online application ends on November 2, 2018, at 5 pm. More information: TUMexchange Program

Equal opportunities scholarships

Erasmus + International Dimension are offering opportunities for stays all over the world. At TUM, these scholarships are awarded to students who have already applied to TUMexchange and have been nominated. This year's application deadline is November 2, 2018. As the aim is to promote equal opportunities, the scholarships are granted with regard to personal and socio-economic factors (such as cultural, social, or financial background, exceptional circumstances of a family, mental or physical nature, etc.). Attention: not all universities are part of the program! See list of the partner universities...

Workshop: stress management for students with children

Are you unsure about how to balance a course of studies and having a family? Being a parent is an additional challenge when you're trying to manage a course of studies, when you have to perform well and prepare for exams. This workshop will help you to improve your stress management – based on practical exercises and theoretical knowledge. We'll help you to deal well with everyday stress and performance pressure – while leaving enough time for your child/children. Time and place: November 8, 2018, from 10 am to 1 pm, Hochschule München, Lothstraße 34, room A320. Please register by sending an email to Klara Schuster (klara.schusterspam prevention@stwm.de). Participation is free, but the number of participants is limited.

Contact Forum of the TUM's General Student Advising

In doubt about your course of studies? Are you threatened with exmatriculation or have you been exmatriculated? At the Contact Forum of the TUM's General Student Advising, you can get into contact with various counseling institutions. Possible topics are reorientation or reflection on a change of subject, options for learning and exam coaching, social security law issues that might concern dropouts, and opportunities in the training market. Talking helps! You will also be able to talk to colleagues of the General Advice Service of the Studentenwerk München, TUM KHG, TUM EHG, and the Academic Vocational Guidance Service of the Arbeitsagentur München. Award ceremony IdeAward

The TUM IdeAward recognizes outstanding ideas and technologies with great market potential. Attend the event and get to know the entrepreneurial university and its rising high-tech stars. 50 teams have applied with their business idea, and the best 10 will pitch live for the three prizes. There is a prize money of € 37,500 in total, provided by the Zeidler Research Foundation. Keynote by Martin Ott, Facebook's Managing Director Central Europe. Science Hack in Garching

For students (all scientific disciplines) with experience and a passion for programming and coding: The first Science Hack will take place in the Magistrale of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science in Garching on December 1 and 2, 2018 – organized by the Junge Akademie. The challenges will be provided by our cooperation partners and by TUM researchers. Students from different fields of study can get together to put their programming skills into practice.
