Hyperloop, musicians and semester ticket

For the third time in a row, after 2006 and 2012, TUM won the Excellence Competition of the German universities

Hyperloop Competition: four races, four victories

The TUM students managed to win the fourth Hyperloop competition in a row. With a maximum speed of 463 kilometers per hour, they missed breaking their own world record (set up last year) by only 4 kilometers per hour. During the competition week, the Hyperloop pod passed around 100 tests successfully. More information: „Fourth victory in the fourth race“ (Press Release July, 21, 2019)

Academicus: ideas until July 31st

From bicycle stands to innovative approaches in teaching or new methods of digital science communication – in the ideas competition Academicus 2019, there are no limits to your creativity. You can submit your ideas and suggestions until July 31, 2019. A jury will select the best concepts. The prize is endowed with a prize money of 500,- EUR. Submit your photos: "Gallery of Diversity"

What role does the aspect of diversity play at TUM? It is an integral part of everyday life at our large international university. Students from the MCTS are collecting photos for a "Gallery of Diversity", to be submitted until August 4, 2019. Join in and send the team your photographs that represent your personal view of diversity. If you like, you can add a short explanation (two or three sentences) why you selected the respective photo. VDI Doctoral Student Day at TUM

The VDI aims to inform young academics about doctoral degrees, support them on their path, and coach them for the future career. Thus, you are invited to the VDI Doctoral Student Day, organized in cooperation with TUM. Experts will provide information on doctoral degrees, and there will be keynote speeches, the Wilhelmy Award Ceremony, and workshops on topics such as "Starter Kit for your doctorate" and "Karrierewege in der Wissenschaft". visiTUM: students explain their courses of study

You are a student of TUM and are looking for opportunities for social commitment? Would you like to pass on your experiences of university life? If so, visiTUM might be just what you're looking for: an opportunity to share your experiences from your course of studies with a group of school pupils, in the form of a short lecture. A preparation workshop is offered, and the presentation tool Prezi will help you create your presentation. The team of TUM General Student Advising is responsible for the scheduling. UNICUM is looking for the "Professor of the Year"

Nominate your Professor of the Year 2019: The UNICUM Foundation will be awarding the title "Professor of the Year" to lecturers in higher education who are particularly committed to their students' entry into the profession – aiming to highlight the aspect of the practical relevance of a course of studies. Holiday Academy in Tutzing: Gender.Body.Health

In 2019, TUM – in cooperation with a team of university colleagues – will once again offer a holiday academy for students and scientists at the Protestant Academy of Tutzing. The focus is on newer approaches of gender-sensitive medicine. There will be presentations of new findings from the research workshop, lectures will give important impulses, and the participants will be able to actively contribute to the event. Wanted: Musicians for the Advent Matinee

On the 1st of Advent (December 1, 2019) the Munich Symphonic Ensemble will once again be playing at the TUM Advent Matinee in the Philharmonie. We are looking for new musicians from all instrument groups. The program of the matinee includes spectacular arrangements of works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Leopold Stokowski, demanding a large orchestra. Contact: Felix Mayer, mayerspam prevention@tum.de. Semesterticket: the price remains the same

Even after the MVV tariff reform, which comes into force on December 15, 2019, the price of the semester ticket will remain the same – up to and including the winter semester 2010/21. With the basic Semesterticket (for a solidarity contribution of € 67.40 per semester) students of TUM and other participating universities can use the means of transport of the MVV on weekdays from 6.00 pm onwards. With the IsarCard Semester (for a surcharge of € 195.70 per semester) it is possible to use the entire network of the MVV without any time limit.
