Fritz Koenig held the Chair of Plastic Design at TUM from 1962 to 1995, where he trained and influenced generations of architects. On this evening, TUM will honour Fritz Koenig at the end of his 100th birthday celebrations.
Admission is free and open to all registration is required. The event will be held in German.
Fritz Koenig zu Ehren
From the perspective of long-time companions and friends, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang A. Herrmann, President Emeritus of TUM, and Prof. Dr. Kurt Faltlhauser, former Minister of State, will speak about the sculptor and teacher. In his keynote Peter Brückner, architect BDA, looks at the sculptor from the perspective of a ‘Koenig student’ as an influential teacher of seeing in the interplay of architecture and plastic design.

The evening will take place as part of the installation ‘Fritz Koenig. Teacher. Sculptor. Architect’. The overall project is a collaboration between the TUM Centre for Culture and Arts, the Freundeskreis Fritz Koenig and Dr. Stefanje Weinmayr, with the kind support of the TUM University Foundation. Special thanks go to the Freundeskreis Fritz Koenig for hosting the reception.
