Information on Degree Program
The continuing education Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Sustainable Real Estate at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) combines academic excellence with practical insights into the construction and real estate industries. The program responds to the urgent need for sustainable transformation in a sector facing major challenges from climate change, ESG regulation, and resource scarcity. Designed for experienced professionals and executives in architecture, civil engineering, urban planning, real estate, and related fields, the MAS enables participants to broaden their expertise across disciplines and actively shape the sustainable development of real estate projects.
Students gain an in-depth understanding of ecological, social, and economic sustainability in the real estate sector. They learn to address complex challenges across the entire real estate lifecycle, integrate ESG criteria and sustainability standards into projects and corporate strategies, and acquire the necessary skills to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage sustainable processes. The program’s unique blend of academic research, regulatory expertise, and real-world case studies empowers students to develop and implement innovative strategies along the entire real estate value chain. With a flexible format that combines in-person and online learning, the MAS is ideally suited for working professionals seeking a scientifically grounded and practice-oriented qualification.
Graduates of the program are experts in environmentally, economically, and socially responsible real estate planning, development, and implementation. They are uniquely qualified to lead transformation processes in the construction and real estate industries and to drive sustainable development in senior roles – whether in project and real estate development, asset and fund management, project management, or consulting.
