The Internet-platform is now online:

Social commitment with TUMsocial

Would you like to do volunteer work, but are unsure about where and how? If so, visit the platform TUMsocial, where you’ll find many ways to help out at charitable organizations.

There are several offers listed already. The platform TUMsocial is supposed to help overcome inhibitions: searching for and sorting possible offers is easy – and establishing the first contacts is too. Here's how: Sign up with your LRZ-account, choose an appropriate offer from the list and apply directly.

Eleven students developed the TUMsocial-platform together. They got together at a seminar of the Junge Akademie. The basic idea was that many people have no idea about how they should start off with voluntary work, because they don’t have any information where help is needed or who they can turn to. Here, TUMsocial can help.

The group of the Junge Akademie wants to show that TUM students do not just sit at their computers, but are also able to initiate social projects. Private social commitment is an important motivation for all of them. Konstantin Riedl, a student of Automotive Engineering, summarizes: "Society offers us a lot of possibilities, and we are able to study here. So I think it's time to give something back".
