Worldwide media reporting about the Walk Again Project

One small kick - hope for many people

Yesterday brought the eagerly anticipated result of the Walk Again Project: Juliano Pinto, a 29-year-old Brazilian who is paralyzed from the waist down, kicked the first ball of the 2014 World Cup football championship. The robotic exoskeleton that enabled him to do this was developed by an international collaboration including researchers at the TU München. Pinto’s one small kick generated an enthusiastic response not only in the World Cup arena in São Paulo, but also in the media around the world.
