Step Inside:

Pass on your university experience as a mentor

Would you like to show some social commitment? Then join the mentoring program "Step Inside" and give school pupils some insight into your course of studies.

During a period of about six months, a student (mentor) and a school pupil (mentee) will have the opportunity to get to know each other personally. Individual questions concerning the course of studies will be answered and experiences can be shared by meeting up on campus, at a café, at university events and by e-mail, chat or phone.

Strengthen your skills

All mentors will take part in specific workshops focusing on mentoring and communication. During the mentoring phase there will also be an opportunity to take part in a supervision – and there will be regular meetings for those who are interested in an exchange beyond the tandems.

As a mentor, you will not only benefit from the workshops, but also from enhanced and valuable social and personal skills. In addition, the casual exchange with the mentee will strengthen your communicative and empathic abilities. At the same time, you will reflect your own experiences and expand your personal horizon.

The mentee will benefit from the study orientation by getting to know the field of study from a student perspective and make first contact with the university.
