Technische Universität München at the Hannover Messe 2015

Cutting-edge research at the leading industrial trade fair

E-mobility, Industry 4.0 and battery technology: Technische Universität München (TUM) will present outstanding projects at the Hannover Messe 2015 from April 13 - 17, 2015.

An electric car that has an acceptable operating range, drives safely, is comfortable, and not prohibitively expensive: Researchers from the TUM working with industry experts on the Visio.M project have succeed in meeting all of these requirements. Visitors to the Hannover Messe can view the prototype at the German Federal Government stand (Hall 27, Stand G64).

With "eCARus", the only people in the driving seat are students from the TUM: Over 60 students are working on the development of electric vehicles and gaining practical experience in the process. The students will present the eCARus 2.0 electric car at the Bayern Innovativ stand (Hall 27, Stand G61). http://www.ecarus.ei.tum.de/en/startseite/

The leading German Institutes of Technology (TU9) also have joint representation at this year’s Hannover Messe. Visitors interested in research projects being carried out by the TU9 Universities can find out about them at the stand of The Association of German Engineers. The topics include e-mobility, medical technology, IT security and Industry 4.0.

The TUM’s Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management and the Institute of Product Development will present the project "Integrated Design and Fabrication of Customer Individualized Products in Cyber Physical Manufacturing Systems" at the stand of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (Hall 2, Stand C28). The aim of the project is to enable customers to design products themselves. An online platform will offer registered users not only the possibility of making changes to their products, they can also present their ideas to the "community" and discuss them with others.

The TUM spin-off INVENOX will present its CONCHIFERA battery technology at the factum stand (Hall 2, Stand C09/2) on April 14. This technology makes it possible to combine a large number of battery cells to form a single battery system in a matter of seconds. The space-saving design of the batteries ensures that more electrical energy can be stored in the same volume.
